Bio
Marek “Maro” Walaszek
Warsaw-based music producer, mix and mastering engineer, composer and DJ, working as Maro Music. Graduate in sound engineering and acoustics from Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań.
He started in 1996 with the rap crew Radio Grochów, ran the independent label Grogra in the nineties and co-founded Formacja Cmentarz. In 2004 he opened his first studio, Fort 11 in Józefów. Today he works out of Addicted To Music Studios in Warsaw, his own studio and label.
His credits run from Polish rap and pop (Borixon, Margaret, Sanah, Malik Montana, Popek, Hemp Gru, WWO) to hip-hop legends Raekwon, Ghostface Killah, Method Man and Redman, the Cyberpunk 2077 soundtrack and campaigns for Coca-Cola, Fanta, BMW, Jaguar and Netflix. Records he worked on hold 80+ gold and platinum certifications.
In 2011 he founded Bettermaker, analog mixing and mastering hardware used by Grammy-winning engineers worldwide. He lectures at universities, has judged the AES student recording competition in New York, Los Angeles, Berlin, Milan, Hungary and Warsaw, and hosts the radio show Bassface on Radio Kampus. Member of ZAiKS and STOART.
Music production
Productions, remixes, soundtracks
Maro has been making records since 1996. He started in the Warsaw rap crews Radio Grochów and Formacja Cmentarz, ran the independent label Grogra, and today produces for Warner Music and the biggest Polish labels from his own studio. Records he has produced, mixed and mastered have passed 1 billion streams.
Cyberpunk 2077
Three of his original tracks play in CD Projekt Red’s Cyberpunk 2077. “When It’s War”, made with Deadly Hunta under the in-game name Footage Missing, is on the official radio soundtrack. He also mixed and mastered “Never Fade Away (SAMURAI Cover)” by P.T. Adamczyk and Olga Jankowska, which plays over the end credits and is certified 4× Platinum.
Hip-hop legends
He wrote and produced the audio musical Rejects, with Ghostface Killah and Raekwon of Wu-Tang Clan on the single “Throwback Boogie”. His credits also include Method Man, Cappadonna, Redman, Sizzla, Wiley, Agallah and Dominique Young Unique.
Remixes and singles
With Skytech he remixed sanah’s “Invisible Dress”, now certified 2× Platinum, and released “Lazy” on Ego Music in Italy. With DJ Frodo he runs the club project MXF.
Brands, film and TV
He has written music for campaigns by Coca-Cola, Absolut, BMW, Jaguar, Mini, Netflix and Fanta, whose campaign aired in 28 countries. Addicted To Music Studios handles engineering and post-production for The Voice of Poland, and he did the sound design for the documentary Andrzej Wajda: My Inspirations.
Fryderyk awards
Pezet’s “Muzyka Popularna” won Hip-Hop Album of the Year at Fryderyki 2026. Margaret’s “Gaja Hornby”, which Maro mixed and mastered in full and on which he co-wrote and produced “Błyski fleszy, plotki, ścianki”, was nominated for Pop Album of the Year at Fryderyki 2020.
Radio and DJ
He hosts the radio show Bassface on Radio Kampus in Warsaw. Before that he ran Addicted To Music with Maro Music, broadcast on Dash Radio and stations around the world.
As a DJ he has played across Europe, at the Amsterdam Dance Event and at DJ Expo in Atlantic City, in the biggest clubs in Poland and in smaller Warsaw venues.

Addicted To Music Studios is a Dolby Atmos certified room. Maro mixes and masters in immersive audio for artists, labels, film and games, from stereo stems or full multitracks.
Spatial audio is supported by Apple Music, Amazon Music and Tidal. On Apple Music, tracks delivered in spatial audio can qualify for a higher royalty rate.

Bettermaker · founded 2011
Bettermaker
Maro founded Bettermaker in 2011 out of his own studio needs: analog processors for mixing and mastering that recall like software. The audio path stays 100% analog, while every control is driven from a plugin in the DAW, so a session comes back exactly as it was left and can be automated. The recall technology is Bettermaker’s own and patented. Every unit is hand-built in Warsaw.

Bettermaker sits in the racks of Grammy-winning and platinum-selling engineers and producers, among them:
Mastering engineer Bob Katz calls the Mastering Equalizer his go-to EQ for most projects. Greg Wells says its instant recall lets him move between several mixes at once.
Madonna in Rio
Bettermaker was part of the audio chain for Madonna’s Celebration Tour finale on Copacabana beach in Rio de Janeiro in May 2024, her biggest show ever, played to an estimated 1.6 million people.
Education
Education is one of Bettermaker’s core values. The Bettermaker Audio Educator Advisory Group, founded in 2023, is a global network of audio educators who teach with Bettermaker tools at about 160 universities, conservatories and audio schools, among them NYU, Georgia Tech, Indiana University, the University of Toronto, Tokyo University of the Arts, Trinity College Dublin, the Royal Danish Academy of Music, SAE Institute and Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań.
